Wendy is committed to providing a warm, friendly and supportive psychological practice. She has been working in the St George and Sutherland Shire areas for 26 years. Before establishing her private practice in 2006, Wendy worked in community mental health, gaining extensive experience supporting people with a wide range of psychological difficulties.
Wendy works with individuals, couples and families. She specialises in working with adolescents and adults experiencing a range of issues, including depression, anxiety disorders, anger, grief, substance use, self-harm, trauma (including PTSD and complex PTSD), relationship difficulties, workplace injuries, chronic pain, psychosis, bipolar disorder and lifestyle concerns.
In addition to her clinical psychology training, Wendy has completed a Master’s degree in Family Therapy. This enables her to provide specialist services to couples and families, as well as support with parenting and other family-related concerns.
Trained in evidence-based approaches, Wendy practises Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Schema Focused Therapy.
EMDR is utilised extensively in Wendy’s clinical practice. She is an Accredited Practitioner with the EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA) and has completed advanced EMDR training including Masterclass sessions and Structural Dissociation training. Wendy is currently working towards accreditation as an EMDRAA Accredited Consultant.
Previously, Wendy has facilitated Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills groups, depression and panic groups, and designed a treatment program for people experiencing depression or anxiety alongside alcohol use concerns.
Wendy is approved to provide clinical psychology services under Medicare and is an approved WorkCover treatment provider. She also sees clients under CTP claims. Her professional memberships and affiliations include being a Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society, a Full Member of the College of Clinical Psychologists, an Approved Counsellor with Victims Services (Justice Health), and an Accredited Practitioner with EMDRAA. She is also a Board Approved Supervisor of Psychologists and Clinical Psychologists.
In her spare time, Wendy enjoys spending time with her family and two rescue cats, gardening, and trying out new recipes.
Wendy is available Tuesday to Friday, including evenings.
