Laura Hayman
Clinical Psychology Registrar/Psychologist
Laura is a registered psychologist with a Master of Psychology (Clinical) through the University of Wollongong.  She has almost 10 years of experience working as a psychologist across primary schools and high schools throughout Sydney. This experience has provided Laura with a strong understanding of the emotional, social and developmental challenges faced by young people, as well as the importance of working collaboratively with families and other support networks.

Laura works with adolescents aged 12+ and adults, supporting individuals experiencing a range of concerns including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, self-harm, body image concerns, self-esteem issues, relationship difficulties and parenting challenges. She is passionate about helping clients develop greater self-awareness, build practical coping skills and navigate life’s challenges with self-compassion. Her extensive experience in school psychology has also given her a particular understanding of the pressures that can impact young people and their families. Laura has a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent people, including autistic people and people with ADHD. She takes a neuroaffirming approach that recognises and respects individual differences, strengths, experiences and support needs.

Laura draws on a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Schema Therapy.

Laura’s therapeutic approach is warm and collaborative with an emphasis on being person-centred, recognising that each client brings their own individual experiences, strengths and perspectives to therapy. Laura is committed to fostering a safe and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship with all her clients where they feel heard, understood and supported. From this supportive space, clients feel empowered to learn practical strategies so they can make meaningful and lasting change in their lives.

Outside of work, Laura enjoys learning languages and is currently learning Japanese. She also enjoys playing guitar, reading and travelling. While she loves exploring new places, Laura equally enjoys spending time at home with her family and her two pets, cat Luna and cavoodle Holly.

Laura is available to see clients through the Medicare Better Access initiative as well as the Workers Compensation scheme.

She is available for appointments on Fridays.
