Clinical Psychology Registrar/Psychologist

Jo is a dedicated registered psychologist with a warm, empathic, non-judgemental and collaborative approach to therapy. She seeks to help clients clarify their goals and values, and learn effective ways to navigate life’s challenges, including drawing on personal strengths and resources. Jo holds a Master of Clinical Psychology with Distinction from Western Sydney University and a Bachelor of Psychology with Honours (first class) from the University of New England. Jo is an associate member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA) and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).

Jo has worked with children, adolescents and adults in private practice and community health, giving her experience with clients from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds, and presentations. Jo’s areas of interest include anxiety, depression, OCD, health anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, parenting, emotional/behavioural dysregulation, and self-compassion. She is devoted to promoting the mental health of neurodivergent individuals.

Jo uses trauma-informed, evidence-based therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Narrative Therapy. Jo is skilled in conducting assessments for ADHD, ASD and specific learning disorders in children, adolescents and adults.

Jo is passionate about removing the stigma of mental health challenges and seeks to normalise people’s unique responses to life stressors. She encourages a holistic approach to improving well-being and is committed to ensuring that treatment is tailored to the specific needs and goals of clients.

Outside of work, Jo enjoys art/crafts, reading, being in nature, and spending time with her family, including three cheeky whippets.

Jo is a registered provider under Medicare and is available Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, including evenings.
