Clinical Psychology Registrar/Psychologist

Jena is an AHPRA-registered psychologist with formal training in clinical psychology. She takes a non-judgemental, warm, and culturally sensitive approach to supporting her clients. Jena works holistically and systemically, ensuring treatment is always collaboratively tailored to her clients’ unique needs. She draws from a range of therapeutic approaches including cognitive-behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, schema-informed approaches, and parent-management training.

Jena is particularly passionate about working with individuals and families during the perinatal period, infancy, and early childhood. She values early intervention and enjoys working directly with children, as well as supporting parents to navigate the emotional and practical challenges of parenting, helping them feel more confident, emotionally supported, and empowered in their parenting journey. She also works with older children and adolescents, helping to manage emotional and behavioural difficulties and build insight and coping skills.

She is currently completing a PhD in clinical psychology investigating long-term pathways of early childhood emotion dysregulation into adolescence, with a focus on the parent and family factors that influence these pathways. Her research reflects her deep commitment to understanding and supporting emotional development and child functioning from the earliest stages of life.

Jena has a strong interest in supporting neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD and autism, from a compassionate and strengths-based perspective. She has experience conducting neuropsychological assessments and enjoys helping people understand their unique profiles, both strengths and challenges.

Jena has worked across public and private settings with clients across the lifespan. She has supported and continues to support individuals with a range of concerns including anxiety and phobias, depression, stress, childhood trauma, emotion dysregulation, parenting challenges, life transitions, chronic health conditions, social difficulties, self-esteem, and more. She also enjoys working with couples and families to improve communication, connection, and shared wellbeing.

Outside of work, Jena enjoys watching documentaries, playing the piano, and exploring.

Jena is approved to provide psychological services under Medicare and Workers Compensation, and is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society. She is available on Mondays and Fridays, including evenings.
